Both Graham cross country teams competed at the Region I cross country meet in Lubbock Monday morning. For senior Marcos Hererra, it marked his last chance at a chance in the state meet next month in Round Rock.

The 4A girls race started off the day. Canyon, Bridgeport, Argyle and Dumas were the top four finishing teams and earned spots in the state meet. The Lady Blues finished 17th overall, led by Madi Wilde, who finished 75th overall at 14:18.6 on the hilly 2-mile course.

“This is the toughest course we run on,” Lady Blues coach Ky Graham said. “It’s run at 1,000 feet elevation and the hills. It’s tough to prepare for.”

Freshman Macee Wilde finished two spots behind Madi at 77th overall and a time of 14:22.0. Junior Kylee Miller finished 93rd with a time of 14:46.8. Alejandra Barrios (128th place, 15:34.2), Alexa Palacios (134, 15:349.7), Olivia Pettus (139, 16:02.3), and Michel Graham (147, 16:26.6) also ran for the Lady Blues.
