The Trinity University Tigers are off to a fast start after a record-breaking game from former Steer quarterback Tucker Horn. After having the start of their season delayed by cancellation, the Tigers defeated Macalester 64-0 after a six-touchdown day by the junior.

Trinity had one of the largest scoring outputs in nearly 20 years with the lopsided victory. The defense recorded its first shutout since Nov. 3, 2018.

Trinity received the ball to start the game. Four plays from scrimmage later, the rest of the game was foreshadowed when Horn found Winston Hutchison for a 56-yard touchdown pass. Less than two minutes later, Horn had the Tigers on the board against with a 3-yard pass to Ryan Merrifield. The touchdown was set up a play earlier with a 45-yard pass from Horn to Brian Stewart. In total, Horn had four passes of over 40 yards and added another scoring throw for 30 yards before sitting down with the game out of hand in the third quarter.

Horn finished the game 20-for-23 throwing for 327 yards and six touchdowns. By halftime, the offense had amassed 400 yards of offense and 43 points. Horn finished with his first collegiate career 300-yard passing game and became just the third player in school history with six or more passing touchdowns. With a completion percentage of 86.95%, Horn broke a school record for completion percentage in a game (minimum 20 completions).
