The JV Lady Blues continued their hot start to the regular season with another win over the Wichita Falls Legacy Lady Leopards. It was a close victory but the Lady Blues were able to pull away.
The game took place Saturday, Nov. 15 and the Lady Blues pulled off a 28-21 victory.
Graham had a little bit of a quiet first quarter trailing 6-4 after the first quarter. They also trailed after the second quarter trailing by two points 9-7.
However, the Lady Blues erupted in the third quarter for 12 points to take the lead 19-12 and they scored another nine points in the fourth quarter to counteract the Lady Leopards nine points to get to the final score.
Janelle Kinney and McKynley Corley opened the scoring for the Lady Blues in the first quarter. Carmen McGee and Corely followed this up in the second quarter with McGee hitting a jumpshot and Corley hitting a free throw.
Maddyx Marin hit a pair of jumpers in the third quarter while Gabriella Noyola hit a jumper and two free throws. Corley hit a jumpshot to add to the scoring in the third quarter as well and McGee rounded it out with two free throws to hit the 12 point mark.
Corley exploded for eight of the Lady Blues nine points in the fourth quarter with two jumpshot makes and four free throws at the charity stripe.
Marin scored the final point of the quarter and game for the Lady Blues with a free throw make.
The Lady Blues will look to keep up this early season momentum into their next contest. The Lady Blues next matchup after their game against Windthorst will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at home against the Bowie Ladyrabbits.
