The Lady Blues are still experiencing growing pains as the team heads into district play this weekend. Slow starts have become a common theme in matches.  A positive from this young team has been the comeback kids’ ability to overcome these slow starts and find ways to win. It is not always the same Lady Blue leading the charge and in ways not always found when looking at blocks and kills.

The team traveled to Bridgeport Friday afternoon for their yearly meeting with the Sissies. Although the Lady Blues walked away with a 3-0 win, the match was closer than it appears with wins of 25-22, 27-25 and 25-21.

Both teams played close in the opening set and it was not an indicator of the match to come. Neither side held a lead of more than three points. Jadyn Mccoy gave the Lady Blues their first point after her swing on the opening rally sailed out of bounds. Trinity Gregory quickly had her side ahead 2-0 with the first kill of the match. However, the lead did not last long as the Sissies responded with a 5-0 run, all on Lady Blues errors. Not all errors are the same for Lady Blues coach Marci Faulk, who has said multiple times that she can forgive an error caused by aggressive play, two of those errors could be attributed to aggressive swings.
