Graham High School Lady Blues powerlifting athletes competed last week in the regional powerlifting meet and despite their season ending, represented the district and school.
After qualifying Feb. 13 in Weatherford, the Lady Blues team traveled Tuesday, Feb. 25 to compete in the Region 6 – 4A Small School Regional Championships at Decatur High School.
Competing in the event for Graham was Hope Jones, Hailey Martinez and Lainey Herring.
Herring and Martinez scored seventh place in their weight classes of 242 pounds and 220 pounds, respectively. Jones scored ninth place in her 132-pound weight class.
Herring lifted 170 pounds on squat, 95 pounds on bench press and 200 pounds on deadlift, or 465 overall.
Martinez lifted 200 pounds on squat, 70 pounds on bench press and 230 pounds on deadlift, or 500 overall.
Jones lifted 195 pounds on squat, 85 pounds on bench press and 235 pounds on deadlift, or 515 overall.
