The Lady Blues struggled at the plate for most of Friday’s district road finale at Vernon. Strikeouts plagued the team as the Lady Blues fell 5-1.

Callie Dobbs, Reese Calhoun, Tatum Westerman and Ryan Atwood each had a hit in the loss. The Lady Blues combined for 15 strikeouts in 25 at-bats in the game. When able to make contact, it was often not strong contact or went straight at the Lady Lions on defense.

“We struggled at the plate. Have to be able to make better contact at the plate,” Lady Blues coach Adam Arrington said. “The balls we did hit we hit right at them and that’s just part of it.”
