Lady Blues dealt tough loss to Stephenville

After a slate of home games for the Lady Blues, they finally got back on the road for a match against the Stephenville Honeybees. 

Unfortunately for Graham, the team fought hard but came up short losing in four sets. 

Despite the loss, Graham actually started the evening off well with an impressive set one win 25-16. However, that was the last set the team won on the night. 

Graham went down swinging in set two losing 25-17 and ultimately were overwhelmed in set three losing 25-13. 

The team lost set four by the same score as set two 25-17 to ultimately lose the match. 

As always though, there were standout performers on the night. Tara Dawson had one of the largest stat lines on the night with four kills offensively, five digs defensively and two blocks at the top of the net. 

Kaden Atwood, the team’s longtime libero, led the team in digs with 13 as well as picking up an ace at the service line. 

Katy McGehee nearly matched Dawson’s kill total with three while also picking up eight digs as well as an ace. 

Kya Cooper put up seven assists along with three digs and an ace on the night as one of the team’s setters. 

However, Hadleigh Allen led the way on the night in the playmaking department with 12 assists. Allen also had six digs and an ace.

Emily Hughes and Rylee Moore continue to flash their ability as power hitters and solid defenders in the front row for the Lady Blues. 

Hughes picked up three kills offensively while also adding four blocks to her statline. Moore also picked up three kills along with three blocks on the night. 

Madison Cauble led the team in kills on the night with five kills while picking up three blocks and Izzy Alejo rounded out the stat leaders on the night with three aces. 

After playing against Brock Friday, Oct. 3, the Lady Blues pick things up Tuesday, Oct. 7 against Mineral Wells at 6 p.m. at home.
