It was not always pretty on Tuesday afternoon for the Lady Blues. That did not matter. The Lady Blues found the outcome they wanted. After looking tense in the first set, the Lady Blues came out more relaxed in the second and third to claim a straight-set win over Jim Ned, 26-24, 25-9, 25-18.

The Lady Blues traveled to Tuscola three days removed from winning their first tournament of the season in Shallowater. While the team looked improved over last week’s loss in Springtown. The Lady Blues started slow against Jim Ned.

In the opening set, the Lady Blues looked like a team that had just finished playing a lot of volleyball just a few days ago. For six of the 12 athletes, that was the most volleyball played with the team in that time.

On the other hand, neither side could fully take advantage of mistakes made by the other. Of the first eight points scored in an early 4-4 tie, only two points by either side were scored on kills. Trinity Gregory scored on a kill to give the Lady Blues a 3-2 lead. Kate Bryant scored for Jim Ned following back-to-back net violations from both sides to even the score.
