SANTO – While the Santo Tournament might not have gotten off to the best of starts for the Graham Lady Blues basketball team, they certainly won’t argue about how the journey finished. Graham stumbled in its opening contest against the May Lady Tigers, but rebounded to defeat Millsap, Granbury JV, and Dublin en route to a third-place overall finish. The Lady Blues (7-8) were scheduled to host Petrolia Tuesday night. May 44 Graham 35 There wasn’t much that went right for the Lady Blues in their opening contest of the tournament against the May Lady Tigers. Despite keeping the game close for the first half, things fell apart in the second half as Graham suffered a tough defeat by nine points. A back-and-forth first quarter saw May take an 8-7 advantage into the second quarter. At the 5:13 mark of the second, May held a 19-11 lead and threatened to blow the game open. However, the Lady Blues stormed back and went into the locker room at the half down just one point at 21-20. Eight points in the third quarter put the Lady Blues in a hole down 34-28 at the end of the frame. May outscored the Lady Blues 10-7 in the fourth to finish the contest. Nicole King led the Lady Blues with 13 points, followed by Skylar Morris with 8 points. Emma Ranger scored 6 points, while Ashley Galloway and Ryan Gober both put in 4 points.
