Lady Blues extend winning streak with home-opening win
The Lady Blues kept their winning streak alive after Tuesday night’s home opener against Bridgeport. After their 10-3 win over the Sissies, the Lady Blues have now won six in a row. The win was sparked by an offensive outburst over the final three innings.
The early portions of the game proved to be a struggle from the opening batter. Trinity Gorham, who has been battling injuries, gave up an error that allowed Aaliyah DeHoyos to score on a hit deep to left-center. The first inning struggles continued with pitcher Reese Calhoun giving up two walks, however, the damage was limited to the run scored earlier in the inning.
“Bridgeport is a good ball club and we knew that going into the game,” Lady Blues coach Adam Arrington said. “They made some solid contact early and were able to get a lead.”
