Before opening district play this week, the Lady Blues had one final non-district game on their schedule. Despite the game resulting in a 22-41 loss to San Angelo, the team will hold their heads high for the district matchups.

Both teams were locked in for the first quarter with Lady Blues senior Briley Randall picking up six points with assists from Rebecca McGregor and Fayth Bryer, who scored 2 points and 1 point, respectively.

At the end of the first quarter the score was tied at 9-9 as the teams looked to make a statement moving forward. The Lady Blues struggles to maintain momentum with only 2 points made by Randall for the entirety of the quarter.

Things looked rough for the Graham team at halftime with the score 11-18 and a sizable score gap for the Lady Blues to have to overcome.

Two free throws by Randall and a 2-point shot by McGregor brought the score to 17-33, with the Graham team scoring but still 16 points from overcoming the Lady Cats, who brought 15 points to the board alone in the third quarter.

The Lady Blues defense stepped up and held the Lady Cats scoring to a minimum in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to close the gap.

Graham ended the fourth quarter with 5 points, and the final score was set at 22-41.

Top scorers for the team were Randall with 10 points, followed by Bryer with 8 points and McGregor with 4 points.

The Lady Blues opened their district schedule Friday, Jan. 3 against Glen Rose. The team will return to their home court at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 against Stephenville.
