It did not look perfect, but the Lady Blue’s perfect start to the district schedule continued Friday evening at Graham High School. The match needed five sets and a fifth-set comeback, but the Lady Blues emerged victorious with a  27-25, 18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 18-16 homecoming win over the Lady Bulldogs of Burkburnett.

The Lady Blues struggled to contend with seniors Alashonte Massey and Tania Lee.

“They’re both tremendous athletes,” Lady Blues coach Marci Faulk said. “They can jump really high and both place really well in regionals in track also.”

Even when winning, the Lady Blues struggled to create and maintain any kind of consistency through the match. It was a match the Lady Blues will be happy to have in the victory column, but the team knows there is more work ahead.
