Lady Blues open district with win at Hirschi
The Lady Blues are off to a fast start in the district schedule with a 3-0 victory at Hirschi Friday afternoon. There was little resistance shown from the Lady Huskies in a 25-9, 25-4, 25-7 win.
The match started with a 12-2 run for the Lady Blues and that set the tone for the match. Trinity Gregory opened the day with a pair of kills before an error from the Lady Huskies allowed the Lady Blues a 3-0 lead. The run was briefly halted after a bad set led to a bad swing by the Lady Blues. Another kill by Gregory and back-to-back violations increased the lead to 6-1. Gregory and Rachel Grimsley each had three kills.
The Huskies had a brief 5-1 run late in the set Desirea Colberthad a block/kill followed by an ace by Summer Colbert helped cut the late deficit to 12 points. The Lady Blues closed the set with a 5-1 run of their own.
