The Lady Blues district match could have been considered a “trap game” for Graham. They were coming off of a big win at home against Wylie and homecoming weekend that saw outside hitter Ashton Reese awarded the crown. Those worries were quickly dashed with a 3-0 win over the short-handed Burkburnett Lady Bulldogs Tuesday at Burkburnett. Graham defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-20, 25-9, 25-14.

Set One started with two quick errors by the Lady Blues. They quickly rebounded with a 9-1 run. Junior Rachel Grimsley earned back-to-back kills in the run. Addison Kimberling added two kills and Reese Echols served an ace. The Lady Bulldogs stopped the bleeding for a short period but struggled in the middle stages to cut the deficit closer to seven, calling a timeout with the Lady Blues ahead 19-12.

Out of the timeout, the Lady Bulldogs enjoyed an 8-5 advantage. It was too late in the set to complete the comeback. The Lady Blues gave up five of the eight points on errors. Grimsley earned two more kills in the later stages.
