The Lady Blues junior varsity and varsity soccer teams spent last weekend in Stephenville for the annual Stephenville tournament. The two teams combined to play five matches over the two day tournament.

The Lady Blue JV team picked up their first win of the season during the tournament with a 5-0 victory over Waco La Vega JV. Olivia Huerta, Harley Grafton, Gabby Wooters, Melany Simental and Marisa Ortegon all scored goals in the win. Huerta’s goal was scored with an assist by Simental. Prior to the win, the team lost 7-0 to Lorena’s varsity team.

The Lady Blues varsity went 0-3, all three losses coming via shutouts. They posted losses to Stephenville JV, 2-0; Fredericksburg, 5-0; and Granbury scored with 30 seconds remaining in the second half for a 1-0 win.

JV goalkeeper Vivian Gutierrez and varsity centerback Jocelyn Palacios were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Blues are back in action tonight when they host Fort Worth Castleberry at Newton Field. Kick-off is at 5 p.m. for junior varsity, with the varsity taking the field at the conclusion of the junior varsity.
