Lady Blues represent in Bowie Tournament

The Graham Lady Blues took part in a tournament in Bowie before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Despite going 0-4 in the tournament held Monday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 25, the team still saw strong performances from its players.

The Lady Blues played against City View, Muenster, Nocona and Slidell.

Graham opened up the tournament with a matchup against the City View Lady Mustangs and fell 56-42.

The top scorer in that game for the Lady Blues was Gabbie Reyes who had 12 points. Reyes hit five midrange jumpshots while also knocking down a pair of free throws to complete her scoring total in the contest.

Graham's second game came against the Muenster Lady Hornets and though the Lady Blues fought hard the team fell short, losing to the Lady Hornets 53-22.

Katy McGehee led the team in scoring for that game with nine points. McGehee hit a three pointer in the fourth quarter while also hitting three other midrange shots throughout the contest.

Tara Dawson, Bentleigh Martin, Briley Randall and Reyes also added to the game's scoring total.

Graham's first matchup on day two of the tournament came against the Nocona Lady Indians. It was another valiant effort for the Lady Blues but they lost once again 53-35.

Addyson Weaver led all scorers for the Lady Blues in this contest with 11 points. She hit a two pointer in the first quarter and two pointer in the third quarter, and a combination of a two pointer and a three pointer in the fourth quarter to finish off with her scoring total.

The final matchup of the tournament for the Lady Blues came against the Slidell Lady Greyhounds where Graham lost this matchup 53-21.

Weaver once again had the highest scoring total of anyone on the team with nine points after making a three pointer and three midrange jumpers.

The Lady Blues continue action at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 for a tournament in Haskell which will run until Saturday, Dec. 6.
