Lady Blues secure second in district

Head coach Ky Graham knows his team has to make plays down the stretch to have a chance to win games.

His team did exactly that on Friday by taking down a gritty Vernon squad on Senior Night. The Lady Blues jumped out to another big lead and had to maintain a furious rally by the Lady Lions in the closing minutes, but were able to hold on and earn a hard-fought win 57-49.

With the victory combined with Wichita Falls Hirschi’s victory over Burkburnett on the same evening, the Lady Blues clinched second-place in district heading into playoffs next week.

Post Cammi Teplicek made sure the Blues would not have to worry about another fourth quarter collapse, as she took over late and helped Graham stay hot with their second consecutive win. The sophomore delivered a game-high 24 points, including 15 in the second half.
