The Lady Blues softball team had two girls named to the 6-4A all-district team. Graham did not make the playoffs in 2016 but fought hard throughout the season. Blue’s pitcher Lexie Allen was selected to the first team. Blue’s catcher Nicole King was named Defensive MVP.

Allen was a senior this season and is headed to Hardin-Simmons to play softball. Allen didn’t get all the wins she wanted this season, but provided fantastic leadership in the circle and was tough to hit. Hitters in 6-4A were challenged in every at-bat against Allen.

King provided terrific strength behind the plate for Graham in her sophomore season. King adjusted to the position of catcher quite well and was a force to be reckoned with. King threw hard and with precision making it difficult to steal on the Lady Blues.

King’s Defensive MVP honor is just the start for her. King and the Lady Blues will return hungry and seasoned next spring.

La Grange captured the Texas 4A softball championship for the second time in three years. La Grange beat Paris North Lamar 8-1 in the 4A state championship over the weekend.
