Multiple Lady Blues softball athletes made their community proud with All-District recognitions.

Those players in particular, whose awards were officially announced Thursday, May 15, are Hadleigh Allen, Tiffany Cotter, Zoey Harrell and Larissa Warren.

Allen, Cotter and Harrell were each recognized as District 6-4A First Team All-District players while Warren was recognized as a Second Team All-District athlete respectively.

The Lady Blues Softball Facebook page put out a statement congratulating the efforts of these young women.

“Congrats to four of our Lady Blues on their awards. All the hard work and dedication these ladies have put in this year isn’t going unnoticed,” the post stated.

The statement also went on to say that these awards are voted on by the district coaches, so they are not just getting recognition from Graham but also from schools across the region. This is also something that head coach Adam Arrington emphasized as significant.

“These awards are voted on by the other teams in the district’s head coaches,” Arrington said. “Anytime you can be remembered by them you’re doing something right.”

These players who received nominations also prove to highlight the level of talent that the Lady Blues softball team showcases at all levels of the field.

Cotter, Harrell and Warren are all infielders who were the primary starting pitcher, shortstop and first baseman for the team this season respectively.

Allen, on the other hand, served the team as a primary outfielder over the course of this season. In particular, she spent much of her time manning the centerfield position.

Arrington had a pretty consistent message of praising these athletes for their consistent improvement over the course of the season and wished Harrell all the best as she graduates and continues her athletic career at Austin College.

What’s also exciting about these nominations is it showcases the bright future that the Lady Blues have going for them going forward.
While Harrell, a senior for the team this past season, will be graduating, she was also the only senior on the team.

That means that the other three athletes who won awards will be returning to the team next season, with a chance to potentially help other athletes on the team accomplish this feat with an extra year of leadership and experience under their belts.

“I’m looking forward to next season,” Arrington said. “Next year we will be stronger, faster and have some extra games under our belt from this summer and upcoming fall league.”

These four athletes made Graham proud with their accomplishments this year.
