Two seasons came to an end Friday at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Both the Steers and Lady Blues played their bi-district playoff matches and walked away in defeat. The Lady Blues fell behind early and could not recover in a 4-0 loss to Snyder. The Steers gave up a 2-0 lead early in the second half and gave up a second lead in extra time before ultimately falling to San Angelo Lake View on penalty kicks.

Snyder 4, Lady Blues 0

The Lady Blues, who were third-place finishers in 4-4A, took on Snyder who finished second place in 3-4A. While the Lady Blues improved on their first touch with a ball, communication and passing continued to be an issue throughout the match.

The Lady Tigers jumped ahead at the 37-minute mark with a goal from Vivian Rangel on a wide right-side shot from 20 yards away that sailed across the goal into the corner of the net. Ten minutes later, the Tigers took advantage of a Lady Blues turnover in the middle third for a breakaway goal by Zairah Cabrera, who scored the first of her two goals with 27:19 remaining in the first half.

Maintaining possession was a struggle as the Lady Blues had a difficult time contending with the speed of the Lady Tigers. Miscommunication led to passes behind their intended recipients or passes getting interception by the opposition.
