While the Lady Blues were able to make solid contact, the team’s struggles continued in a matinee softball game against Stephenville. Despite 10 hits and combined nine drawn walks, the Lady Blues fell 20-6 against the Honeybees.

Ruby Shaffer, Hudson Wright and Kylie Pruitt each had multi-hit games Friday, April 3. Pruitt and Larissa Warren each added doubles. Wright added a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jansyn Louder and Hadleigh Allen combined to draw five walks, but the Lady Blues’ defense struggled and was out-hit by the visiting Honeybees, 19-10. The Lady Blues also committed eight errors, allowing seven unearned runs.

Offensively, the Lady Blues were able to take advantage of a pair of errors by the Honeybees to score one unearned run.

The Honeybees started the game hot with a five-run first inning and scored in all but the fifth inning. After scoring a pair of runs in the second inning, Graham was held without further runs until the sixth and seventh inning where they combined for four runs.

The Lady Blues will look to turn things around Friday, April 10 when they travel to Brock.
