It’s been a period of adjustments for the Lady Blues varsity volleyball team. Coach Marci Faulk has been pushed to make several roster adjustments over the past week. The Lady Blues opened the district schedule Tuesday on the road at Hirschi. The short-handed Lady Blues defeat Hirschi 25-8, 25-18, 25-12.

The Lady Blues were forced to call up four players from the junior varsity roster as Morgan Patterson, Reese Echols, Rachel Grimsley, Sarah Sanders and Emma Parker were all out of action for the match. Maddie Mandela made her first start at the varsity level for the Lady Blues.

As expected against Hirschi, the Lady Blues jumped ahead early and never trailed in the opening set. Sparked by a 9-0 run to open the match, the Lady Huskies were never in contention for taking the first set. Leah Holland served during the stretch and added four kills.
