Lady Blues sweep on Senior Night

    Graham volleyball dominated Burkburnett on Friday in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-20). After the game the graduating seniors were honored for their hard-work and dedication to the program. The Graham Lady Blues sent their seniors out in style with another sweep of an opponent on Friday at Graham High School gym. The Lady Blues were able to take charge halfway through of all three sets to finish off a pesky Burkburnett team 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-20).

While Graham continues its push towards the playoffs, the evening was all about the celebration of the student-athletes who dedicated four years to a program. 

After the match, the Lady Blues honored their five senior players along with two it its managers for a tremendous career. Senior players Jillian Wendel, Avery Iles, Emma Ranger, Celeste Aguirre and Meredith Armstrong stood with their families after doing work against the Lady Bulldogs.

The seven have been part of a program that has been absolutely dominant over the last several seasons. Graham went all of last season without dropping a single home match while the Lady Blues have fallen just twice this year on their home court. The trend continued on Friday.

Graham (30-7) found ways to feed their many talented hitters and eventually sized a 14-10 lead off a perfectly placed kill from junior Britain Thayer off a feed from Chloe Menard. The Blues proceeded to open up a 19-11 advantage in the opening set before taking an early lead in the match with...
