Lady Blues volleyball stumbled as they opened the season with back-to-back losses Tuesday at Graham High School.

The Lady Blues officially opened the season with a three-set loss to Springtown Tuesday, Aug. 9 and another three-set loss to Peaster later that evening.

Stringing together a successful series of rallies proved to make the difference in both matches. The Lady Blues could only score more than three consecutive points on one occasion during either match. All three teams met officially for the first time this season following the Peaster scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 6 where Peaster hosted Springtown, Bridgeport and the Lady Blues.

The Lady Blues fell behind early in the opening set of the season-opening match against Springtown. The Lady Porcupines jumped ahead 3-0 before allowing the Lady Blues to even the score. Senior Miya Cantwell set up junior Olga Morales for the first kill of the season. The kill was scored on the middle point of a three-point run, which included two swings out of bounds by the Lady Porcupines.
