The Lady Blues faced a familiar foe on Tuesday when they faced Big Spring in the bi-district round of the UIL playoffs. The match, held in Hawley, marked the fourth straight year the two teams met in the playoff opener. The results were similar as well with the Lady Blues defeating the Lady Steers in straight sets to move onto the area round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Addison Kimberling provided a strong play at the net while the team benefitted from the serving of Morgan Patterson. The junior setter served four aces while giving the Lady Steers fits with her serve, causing the Lady Steers to struggle to return the ball. Kimberling had 13 kills and five blocks. Patterson had a total of 25 service points and added 20 assists.

"Addi was all over the net for us tonight," said coach Marci Faulk. "She made it tough for them to get anything over the net and it helped our offense." The Lady Blues will travel to Henrietta on Saturday for the area round match against Krum at 2 p.m.

"Krum is a fast team that will keep us moving," said Faulk. "If the girls can stay confident, I have no doubt that we can be successful."
