It’s been a difficult start to the district schedule for the Lady Blues. After a blowout home win against Burkburnett, the Lady Blues let a difficult game slip away in Iowa Park. Friday night at home against Hirschi, the Lady Blues were outscored 19-7 in the fourth quarter as the Lady Blues suffered a 55-46 loss to the Lady Huskies.

The Lady Huskies slowed the pace of the game down from the start with a lack of movement other than passing the ball along the 3-point line. This forces the Lady Blues defense to increase their pressure while allowing the offense to take advantage of mistakes while limiting their shots. The slower pace also places increased importance on making shots, something the Lady Blues struggled with in the loss.

The constant passing also opened up multiple scoring opportunities for the Lady Huskies. The Lady Huskies had three players score in double figures.

In the opened four minutes of the game, the two teams combined for seven points with the Lady Blues leading 4-3. After the Lady Blues took a 7-5 lead with 1:33 left in the first quarter, the Lady Huskies responded with a 10-0 run that extended into the second quarter. The run allowed the Lady Huskies to take a 15-7 lead with 7:19 remaining in the first half. The Lady Blues outscored the Lady Huskies 13-6 for the remaining of the quarter to trail 21-20 at halftime.
