The high school sports world is continuing to press on with basketball playoffs after a series of winter storms pushed through Texas causing massive power outages across the state. Many postponements have forced the University Interscholastic League to make changes to its postseason schedule.

According to a memo sent to superintendents, the UIL is extending certification deadlines for the postseason and district certification for the boys. There is no plan to determine rounds by coin flips.

Locally, the Bryson Cowboys and Graham Steers have been impacted by districts that have yet to complete district schedules due to winter weather. Bryson is scheduled for a tie-breaker game with Perrin Saturday at 6 p.m. at Perrin. The Steers will start their playoff run Tuesday. They will meet the second-place finisher in 6-4A, Lampasas, Tuesday at Brownwood Coliseum with a 6 p.m. tip.
