The Graham Steers basketball team will have a new look when the season begins later this year. Coach Marcus Morris has left the Steers to coach the Rangers at Midland Greenwood.

Morris joined the Steers for the start of the 2010-2011 basketball season, replacing Austin Chamness. He took control of a Steers team that was coming off a district championship with an undefeated district schedule. That team lost to Hirschi in the regional semifinals. Morris had previously coached from 2007-2010 in Big Springs. According to MaxPreps.com, Morris coached the Steers to a 112-137 (40-39 district) record.

“It hasn’t been an easy decision, but we were presented with an opportunity and we decided to make a change,” Morris said. “Midland Greenwood is a good place with good people, as well and we are looking forward to another challenge. Molly will continue to help kids as a counselor at the intermediate school in Greenwood.”
