Newcastle Bobcats take down perennial power May

The Newcastle Bobcats head into district play with plenty of confidence. Head coach Julian Menchaca’s squad made an impressive statement Friday using a second-half comeback to defeat May 70-49 at home.

The May Tigers have lost just two games in the last two seasons and were dealt their largest defeat since 2016.

J.D. Brice continues to excel this season after rushing for 685 yards and 15 scores in his sophomore season in 2017. The now junior has made a statement on the field already this year and is one of the most talented players in six-man.

Brice accounted for four touchdowns while running for 116 yards in Friday’s take-down of May (4-2). Brice also threw for 117 yards and two scores to help the Bobcats earn their third consecutive win.
