When he took the job during the summer, firstyear head coach Julian Menchaca admitted that he wanted to restore the winning culture back in Newcastle.
The Bobcats struggled last season by going 4-6. Menchaca stepped in and led Newcastle to their first district championship since 2016 with a 72-60 win at Saint Jo Friday.
Saint Jo gave Newcastle all it could handle. The Panthers led 52-50 after Eli Jones’ 1-yard touchdown with 2:34 remaining in the third quarter.
