The Steers’ offense struggled again Thursday night in Wichita Falls as the growing pains continued to a 43-9 loss against Hirschi. Moving the ball was an issue as the Steers were forced to lean on freshman quarterback Ty Thompson for the bulk of the offense.

The offense posted a season-low in passing yards with 134 yards on 12 completions for Thompson. Dropped passes have plagued the Steers this season, including Thursday night when a long pass was dropped just short of the end zone.

The Huskies jumped ahead from their opening possession and never looked back. The Steers struggled on defense with the Huskies offense which featured two quarterbacks, Jimmell McFalls and Terrius Causey. Both quarterbacks had touchdown throws of more than 40 yards. In total the pair combined for 12 of 18 passing for 324 yards, four TDs and no interceptions. Jamarion Carroll was the main beneficiary of the two, who are competing for the actual starting job when district play begins.
