Seventh annual Bailey Tournament sees success, gives back

The Brandon Bailey 3-on-3 Tournament kicked off Saturday morning with preliminary games, and concluded Saturday night with championship games inside Newcastle gymnasium. A total of 29 teams took part in the event.

The group from Albany and Cisco won the college men’s title. Isaac Acosta, Derek Isbell and Duane Walkingstick went into a sudden death free throw tiebreaker to down Electra’s Brady Doss, Trey Jones, Andrew Marsh and Markeis Lee.

The final trophies were awarded to Chase Cook, Ryan Chaney, Kolton Kohl and Hayden Farquhar in the elite men’s group.

Proceeds from the tournament went to support the Brandon Bailey Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established to celebrate the memory of 2011 Newcastle High School graduate ...
