The Steers played games on back-to-back days last weekend. It started Friday with a re-match of Tuesday’s nine-inning game against Burkburnett and concluded at home Saturday with a non-district matchup against Stephenville.

Steers 9, Burkburnett 1

The Steers never trailed in the rematch, played at Burkburnett. The Steers scored one run in the third inning and never looked back.  Ryan Grimsley brought home Raider Horn on a one-out single to center field. Horn reached base on a single two batters earlier. Alex Strawbridge was called out at third on the play.

They added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Grimsley earned his second RBI of the night with a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing home Horn. In the following inning, Joel Gomez bunted into a double play, he was called out at first base. Gaven Henderson scored before Ben Williams was called out for the third out of the inning.
