In the Steers’ 68-19 win over Burkburnett Friday night at Bulldog Stadium, the Graham passing game showed its strength with one of the best offensive nights in Graham’s history. In particular, quarterback Tucker Horn showed his ability to pinpoint passes at every level; short, medium and long passes were all in play during his phenomenal night. Horn completed 88 percent of his 27 passing attempts for 339 yards, averaging 14.1 yards per completion, accumulating a 140.6 passer rating. “It was good for us to get some rhythm offensively and for him to show what he’s capable of,” Graham head coach Kenny Davidson said. “The line and the receivers all did their job. It was good for us and good for Tucker.” Horn’s success can’t solely be designated to the play of the offensive line, but their success sure didn’t hurt. The Steers offensive line continually gave Horn an unnatural amount of time to scan the field and complete his passes. Graham’s receivers played their part as well, specifically on long pass plays. Adam Groves’ 43-yard catch at the end of the first half set up Jaxon Brockway to scamper in with just four seconds left in the first half for one of his three rushing touchdowns. Cameron Parker’s only reception, a 38-yarder earlier in the second quarter led to a Brockway rushing touchdown as well. Kody Perry and Kalon Walker each caught just one pass. Perry’s was a 34-yard beauty that led to a touchdown, and Walker’s was a third-quarter, 35-yard touchdown reception (Horn’s only touchdown pass of the game) that proved to be the nail in Burk’s coffin.
