Steers clinch share of 6-4A

The Graham boys basketball team knew what was at stake. The Steers could not afford a loss Friday night if they still wanted any shot at a district title.

They made sure not to, ruining Burkburnett’s district-championship celebration with a 75-70 upset of the No. 16-ranked team in the state according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Amidst a packed crowd inside GHS gymnasium, the Steers handed the Bulldogs its first district loss and first defeat in 2019.

Case Birch highlighted the monumental win by providing a game-high 26 points while grabbing five rebounds.

With the victory, Graham (20-10, 9-1 District 6-4A) completely flipped the table after committing 15 turnovers in the first half in the two team’s first meeting two weeks ago, a 15 ....
