The Graham Steers are bi-district champions. After losing Game 1 to Glen Rose Friday night at Glen Rose, 4-3, the Steers returned home and won back-to-back games Saturday to move on to the area playoff against Argyle. Ryan Grimsley pitched a shutout 1-0 victory in Game 2 and followed with a save in Game 3’s 12-11 win.

Brock High School will host the Steers and Argyle Friday and Saturday for the area playoff. Game 1 will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. Game 2 will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, will begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 2.

Tigers 4, Steers 3, 8 innings

The Steers had little trouble making contact at the plate Friday night. Tigers’ starting pitcher Wyatt Waters gave up five of the Steers’ six hits and relied on his defense to keep the Steers at bay. It was the defensive play of Tigers shortstop Bodee Mausser and second baseman Christian De La Cruz that proved problematic for the Steers.
