It looked great at the beginning for the Graham Steers. They led for the entire first quarter before an injury and foul troubles took over. The Steers dropped their district opener with a 63-37 loss at Hirschi.

The game started as well as the Steers could hope for. They slowed the game down offensively and forced turnovers early to jump out to a 9-1 lead with 2:37 in the quarter. First, Zach Martin went down with an apparent ankle injury. Next, Daniel Gilbertson and Javier Leija got into early foul trouble, causing the Steers to have to dig deep into their bench.

Ben Williams, Preston Noble and Lawson Wenninger all saw increased minutes in their absence.
