The Graham Steers just finished another successful football season where their mantra was to prove the doubters wrong.

They achieved that goal by taking a team that graduated over 20 seniors from the season prior all the way to the regional round of the playoffs. The Steers were rewarded for their success this year with all-district awards.

Athletes from all across the roster were recognized as exceptional athletes as well as students.

For team awards, Tyson Louder was recognized as offensive line most valuable player, Caleb Gibson also took home the defensive newcomer of the year award and Colt Taylor was recognized as utility player of the year for his work as both a running back and linebacker.

Several members of the team were also recognized as academic all-state players.

Denton Lauster and Jack Van Winkle were recognized as first team academic all-state players while Treyson Kramer came in right behind them as a second team academic all-state player. Jace Gill, Macrae Menard, Mike Garcia and Isaiah Flores were also recognized as academic all-district honorable mention players.

Mia Hunter and Hannah Randolph were additionally recognized as academic all-state athletic trainers for the Steers.

The Steers had nine players recognized as first team all-district players, seven players recognized as second team all-district players and four players recognized as all-district honorable mentions.

The first teamers were Flores, Roan Pratt, Gill, Jordan Alexander, Cooper Corley, Brennan Strawbridge, Brodie Martin, Thomason Burkett and Bennett Coley.

The second teamers named were Andrew Ramirez, Walker Bennett, Brodie Chapman, Santiago Zamora, MacRae Reese, Menard and Lauster.

Braxton Braim, Parker Hale, Landon Bass and Jouah Thomas rounded out the awards as honorable mentions.
