Steers lose in Burkburnett rematch
The struggles came early and often for the Graham Steers on Tuesday night. With playoff seeding still on the line, the Steers struggled with a revenge-minded Burkburnett Bulldogs. The hosts secured a second-place district finish after defeating the Steers 79-64.
The Bulldogs are a team that plays fast and shoots in bunches. When the teams last met on Jan. 22 in Graham, they shot 55 3-pointers in an 85-78 overtime win by the Steers.
The 3-point shot is always a threat from the Bulldogs and it was again on Tuesday. The Steers struggled to keep pace with their hosts from the start as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-4 advantage midway through the first quarter. They were able to close the gap in the later stages of the quarter with an 8-0 run.
