Steers nearly hit century mark in thrashing of Vernon

Blowout. Statement. Dominant. These words are all commonly usedand often overused-in large margin victories.

Friday, inside Graham High School gymnasium, every one of those words were a fitting description of the outcome.

The Steers nearly cracked triple digits on the scoreboard, leading to a 99-42 victory over Vernon. With one point shy of 100, it’s the most points scored by any team head coach Marcus Morris has fielded in his tenure as the man in charge.

Graham (18-10, 5-1) looked like a complete, unstoppable team from the opening tip inside GHS gym. The Steers put together perhaps their best showing of the season Friday.

Fourth-place Vernon (7-12, 1-5) found little wiggle room ...
