It its 5-game winning strak, Graham has had several players step up, but Friday night all three facets of the game were in complete shutdown mode from the opening quarter, as the Steers cruised to a 61-14 homecoming victory over Krum at Newton Field.

After not scoring last week until 1:01 remaining in the quarter, it didn't take long for the Steers to completely overlelm the winless Bobcats. Graham held Krum scoreless on their first posession and went right to work, needing just six plays to get into the end zone. Chase Gilmore took the handoff from quarterback Hunter Lanham and raced 39-yards for the score.

Following a Krum punt, the offene put together one of their more time-consuming drives on the night. Facing a third-and-10 from their own 32-yard line, Lanham fired a strike to senior receiver Caleb Guinn for the first down. Sophomore Daniel Gilbertson then picked up another first down on a 13-yard run. The two first downs put the offense on the Krum side of the field and needed just one play to hit paydirt. Lanham dropped back and found senior Marcus Clark for a 30-yard connection for the score to give the Steers a 13-0 advantage wthh 6:02 still left in the opening quarter.

Gilmore added two more touchdowns in the first half to continue his dominant season while junior Brody Rogers scored his first touchdown of the season in the first half.

Krum finally was able to get on the scoreboard, but the Steers had the game well in hand, up 34 points with 3:50 to go before halftime, quarterback Bryson Lightfoot found Darius Price down the right sideline for a 40-yard completion. Two plays later, Lightfood went up the middle for a 12-yard scamper for the score.

Lightfoot wasn't the only signal-caller to get into the scoring column. Lanham called his own number from 3-yards out early in the second quarter. It was the first rushing touchdown of his young career.

While the offense had no trouble, the Graham defense continues to make plays down the stretch. Junior Brandon Palacios' recovery gave the Steers possession following a mishandled ball on a Krum kickoff return in the second quarter. Kicker Alonso Arvizu sailed high spiral into the air that the Bobcats were unable to field cleanly.

The Steers will honor their seniors next week for the final remaining home game against Aubrey on Senior Night.
