Steers shutout Rams in six-inning win

The Steers have set themselves up in a prime position to take win the district championship. After back-to-back shutout wins, the Steers prepare for a pair of games with Iowa Park, with both teams tied for first. A 10-0 home win against Mineral Wells set up the high stakes games on Friday night.

Mineral Wells was the opponent for both games last week, which saw the Steers winning by a combined score of 29-0 across 11 innings. That is an average of 2.6 runs per inning in the two games. Ryan Grimsley took the mound in game two and held the Rams to one hit.

The bats were alive early and often for the Steers. Six different Steers players earned hits and combined for 11 total. Brodie Bates, Landon Hebert and Raider Horn each had multi-hit games. Horn led the team with three hits in the game. Ben Williams, Parker Johnson and Noah Jilek each picked up walks. Johnson had two walks in the game.
