Steers trample Bulls in district opener
The Graham Steers earned an important win Friday night. It was not just the win that mattered. The victory margin came into play as it will be a tight contest for a district championship. The Steers traveled to Bridgeport Friday night and came home with a 30-14 win.
Steers coach Kenny Davidson said every point is going to matter this season. The district championship is going to be a close race that could come down to tiebreakers.
It was a near-perfect start to the game for the Steers, who until last week, have experienced struggles moving the football. After running back Noah Jilek earned a season-high in rushing yards last week against Midland Greenwood, freshman quarterback Ty Thompson earned a season-high in passing yards with 234 yards on 21 completions and one touchdown Friday night.
