The Graham Steers advanced in the 4A Division II Playoffs. Friday night in Boyd the Steers moved on with a convincing 62-10 win over the Van Alstyne Panthers. The Steers have not faced much resistance in the past month with blowout victories in five games of their current six-game winning streak.

The game started with a rare three-and-out by the Steers and allowed the Panthers to get on the board first. It had looked as if the defense made quick work of the Panthers on their first offensive drive until a roughing the kicker penalty gave the Panthers a first down. It did not take long for the Panthers to be faced with another third down. This time, the Panthers elected to go for it on fourth down and was stopped by Zach Martin.

From there, it did not take long for the Steers offense to get going on a 21-point first quarter. Daniel Gilbertson broke free on a run to the left for a  59-yard touchdown run. After a three-and-out, the Steers found themselves in prime field position after a botched snap forced the Panthers to punt from their goal line. Less than two minutes from his first, Gilbertson had a second rushing touchdown, this time from 17-yards out.
