Graham basketball had a successful night in Comanche. With the varsity, junior varsity and freshman teams visiting the Indians, all three teams earned double-digit victories Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The Graham Steers earned their second win of the season Nov. 29 with a 60-45 win at Comanche over the Indians. While using a 24-shot advantage from the free-throw line, the Steers continue to show improvement after matching the team’s win total from the previous season.

Two Steers scored in double figures and eight earned a combined total of 41 trips to the free-throw line in the win. The 41 attempts are more than the Steers have earned the first games combined, to start the season. At 2-2, the Steers entered this weekend’s Haskell tournament looking to surpass last year’s win total of two games.

Keion Shead led the way for the Steers in the first quarter with 11 of the Steers’ 17 points to open the game. Shead, Kolby Spurlin and Luke Padron each hit a 3-pointer in the quarter. Shead added two 2-point field goals to his four points from the free-throw line. Defensively, the Steers had to contend with senior point guard Miguel Martinez, who scored five of the Indians’ 11 points in the first quarter. Martinez scored five of six 3-pointers made by the Indians in the game.
