With the regular season winding down, the Graham Steers varsity baseball team is perhaps playing their best baseball of the season at the right time. Luke Stone pitched the squad’s second consecutive no-hitter of the week in a dominating 15-3, five-inning, victory over second-place Vernon on the road Friday to extend their winning streak to three games. The Steers’ outscored their opposition by a margin of 28-3 last week all while their pitching staff didn’t allow a single hit. Graham put together their most impressive win of the season Friday by scoring two runs in each of their first-two innings before opening the game wide open with a seven-run third. Vernon (10-8, 4-3) committed five errors on the night behind starting pitcher Brayden Williams. John Collins lined a smash to left field that appeared to be a sacrifice fly, but the ball was dropped by the Lion left fielder, allowing an extra run to score on the error in the first.
