Strong third quarter gives Steers sixth straight win

A strong defensive performance allowed the Steers to run their winning streak to six games and a shot at another district championship.

Graham (6-3, 4-0 District 3-4A Division II) turned a tight game at halftime into a 27-17 win over the Aubrey Chaparrals at Newton Field on Senior Night Friday.

The Steers trailed for most of the first half until the offense went 63 yards to finally crack the scoreboard. Quarterback Hunter Lanham threw first down completions to sophomore Daniel Gilbertson for a 20-yard gain, a 11-yard hookup with senior Chase Gilmore and a 10-yard...
