UIL announces 2020-2022 Reclassification and Realignment
The UIL announced its 2020-2022 Reclassification and Realignment this morning at 9 a.m. Every two years the UIL reassess its classes and districts based on enrollement numbers and will realign the districts as necessary. When the projected cutlines were announced for classes A-6A, Mineral Wells was expected to drop to Division II of Class 4A. Several outlets, including The Graham Leader, predicted that Mineral Wells would be placed in a district with Graham. Although more changes were possible that was the only change predicted. Listed below are the realigned districts for Graham, Newcastle and Bryson.
Graham High School
Football (4A-2 Region 1 District 3): Bridgeport, Graham, Iowa Park, Mineral Wells, Vernon.
Volleyball (4A Region 1 District 5): Burkburnett, Graham, Iowa Park, Mineral Wells, Vernon, Wichita Falls Hirschi
Basketball (4A Region 1 District 5): Burkburnett, Graham, Iowa Park, Mineral Wells, Vernon, Wichita Falls Hirschi
Bryson High School
6-Man Football (1A-1 Region 4 District 9): Bryson, Newcastle, Perrin-Whitt, Saint Jo, Texas Leadership Charter Academy-Arlington
Volleyball (2A Region 2 District 9): Archer City, Petrolia, Windthorst, Bowie Goldburg, Bryson, Electra, Harrold, Nocona Prairie Valley (Bryson is joining the district)
Basketball (1A Region 4 District 21): Bryson, Graford, Newcastle, Perrin-Whitt, Throckmorton, Woodson
