Graham High School has found its new girls basketball coach following coach Ky Graham’s retirement at the end of the school year. The hiring of Jacksboro High School’s Kyle Wood was approved during a closed session at last week’s Graham ISD School Board meeting.

Wood joins the Lady Blues after coaching the Tigerettes for three seasons. He previously coached at Petersburg for two stints and Hale Center.

“We’ve competed against y’all for three years, and I started noticing the girls can compete,” Wood said. “We’ve always liked the community, we always liked the feel of the community. You know, everything I’ve heard, y’all have had great support from the community, the parents, teachers (and) administration. And so (I) just want to come over there and be a part of the community and be a part of the culture.”
