Young County Rodeo sees success

The 17th annual Young County Rodeo wrapped up on Saturday at the Young County Arena in Graham. The event began Thursday and ended Saturday with the championship rounds, followed by a concert from Ross Shifflett.

During the first day on Thursday several performers turned in quality scores. The United Professional Rodeo Association competition started off with bareback riding. Bareback riders are scored based on their upper body control and spurring action. Riders must remain on the bronc for eight seconds, using one hand. Hunter Ramsey of El Dorado, Arkansas ended the weekend with the top score of 76 and took home $930.50.
